The Connection

With much anticipation and celebration, the Stockton Public Library welcomes Ola's Exotic Coffee to the Cesar Chavez Central Library. After months of searching for a provider and completing the request-for-proposal process, Ola ‘s Exotic Coffee was selected and awarded a contract in early January. Ola ‘s is owned and operated by David and Janet Friday of Stockton. Mr. and Mrs. Friday moved to Stockton in early 2004 with the opening of their first Ola ‘s Exotic Coffee shop in north Stockton.

The Ola ‘s contract is a partnership with the Library that will benefit both organizations. A portion of the monthly profits made from the commercial rent of the space and from the sale of coffee, specialty drinks, and food at the Library will be returned to the Library to augment the materials collection budget. In addition to the cash revenue, the partnership will increase the Library’s community interaction and marketing opportunities.

Ola ‘s Exotic Coffee will be open for service Monday — Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They will be serving exotic wild African coffees and teas.
